One of the hardest things about living and working abroad is being far away from your family and friends. This lack of a social support structure means that you may find it harder to cope with the stress and/or challenges of everyday life. Psychotherapy can help with this by providing a support point and someone to talk to.

In addition to being far from the people that are important to you, living in an unfamiliar setting adds to the uncertainty and feeling of uneasiness responsible in large part for the anxiety that creeps in on you. Psychotherapy addresses the issues of loneliness, anxiety and disorientation by providing healthier alternatives.

If only the places were unfamiliar it would be easier to deal with the change. But most of the time the people are different too: they think differently, have different expectations and interaction styles. These differences can leave you confused or frustrated unless you find ways to cope with the situation.

Why me?

I’ve worked in the corporate environment for over 10 years. During this time I’ve met and worked closely with a lot of people from other countries so I know first hand the kind of difficulties and challenges you face when living and working abroad.

I have excellent English skills so we will have no trouble understanding each other. I speak several other foreign languages but English is the only one in which I feel comfortable enough to conduct therapy sessions in. So, if you’re looking for online psychotherapy in English, I’m here for you.

Things to know about me and how I work:

(just the basics, to give you some idea)

I’m trained in the Adlerian School of Psychotherapy, based on the works of Alfred Adler, a student of Freud.

I use talk therapy only. You will not need to get out of the chair during our sessions unless you want to stretch your legs.

Understanding the function of the behavior and pursuing solutions based on that insight.

My therapeutic style is approachable, honest and direct. I use humor and creativity a lot but I also say the things that need to be said even if they may make you uncomfortable.

My approach to therapy lends itself best to short and mid-term therapeutic interventions. Think weeks or months, not years.

This is how it works:

1 session / week

45 minutes / session

3 months of therapy at least

50 Euros / session

1 month break, on request

Default is Zoom, but Skype and Whatsapp sessions are also available
